After the site evaluation is completed, the landowner will have a sense of how much additional carbon can be captured on the property. At this point, the landowner will be given the option of joining the mutual pool. For a percentage of the return, Wonder Earth Partners will market a large block of carbon sequestration resources and disperse the proceeds among the mutual pool members. This will allow a lower threshold of carbon accumulation to be accepted, by dispersing the marketing costs among all the land-owners in the pool, as opposed to each individual bearing the full transaction cost. In order to market assets, an independent third party evaluation is required. Other costs include agent and market fees. (Wonder Earth can supply this third party advice to parties outside our mutual pool, for a fee).

Carbon is marketed by the metric ton and the future price may get as high as US$30 per ton. Each lot is sold on an annual basis and Wonder Earth Partners will be responsible for continuing assessment of incremental carbon growth on an annual basis.

While this plan appears specific to forest lands, Wonder Earth Partners also have the ability to evaluate carbon sequestration for various soil types and land usage. Though the criteria may differ from forests, WEP expects to be able to gain credits for range lands, agriculture lands, wetlands, ponds and streams, lakes and reservoirs, parks and campgrounds. Every member of the plant kingdom has the potential to sequester carbon, the creativity to manage property for carbon accumulation is where Wonder Earth Partners stand out.
